NOLAND CHAMBLISS

"I wanted to establish how much Kieve means to me in a formal way," says Noland Chambliss. "It's a way to tell the camp that its impact on me is something that I think about in the context of my whole life."
Noland was a Kieve camper from Junior Kieve through Maine Trails, a counselor through his summers at Vassar, and an assistant director following college graduation. When his father passed away in 2017, Noland came across a Paddle & Thistle Society pin when going through his stuff. From there, he learned that his father had made a gift to KWE in honor of both the positive difference Kieve made in his son's life and - after growing up going to a Maine camp himself - that the summer camp experience continues to make across generations.
"I've learned how important it is to have a will, no matter your age," says Noland. So he made a will at a younger age than many do and encourages his peers to do the same. "It's very easy and an incredible gift to your loved ones in what will be a difficult moment in their lives." Proud that his bequest gift will go to something meaningful, Noland wants young adults to know just how simply they can make a difference in the lives of their loved ones and beloved causes by thinking ahead.
